Sleep Habits

Do you have trouble sleeping at night? Do you wake up multiple times during the evening? Most likely you don't have very good sleep habits. Don't feel bad, your not alone there are over 40 million people in our country with sleep disorders, a good majority of them could be solved with good sleep habits.


Bad sleep habits are a major cause of alot of peoples sleeping problems. I'll give you a few bad sleep habits and you can see if any of these sleep habits apply to you. Going to sleep and waking up at various times are bad sleep habits. Eating chocolate or drinking caffeinated drinks later in the day are part of bad sleep habits. Napping at different times during the day is a bad sleep habit. Those are just a few bad sleep habits that contribute to poor sleep on a daily basis.


Now lets go over some good sleep habits. Maintain a regular sleep schedule. Believe it or not but getting enough daylight or very intense artificial light for at least a half hour, preferable within the first 1 or 2 hours after you get up. Avoid daytime napping as it can hinder falling asleep at night. Avoid alcohol and nicotine products at least two hours before going to bed. One of the easiest of the best sleep habits is to create a quiet and comfortable bed room, very dark as well, if you can see your hand in front of face in the dark of your room then your room is still to light. So follow some of these steps to create better sleep habits and improve your life.
