Sleep Survey Do you sleep well at night? Do you sleep at all at night? If so can you sleep through the night withoutn interruption? If the answer to any or all of these is no dont feel to bad, there are millions of us out there with sleeping disorders and/or bad enough stress to cause the same results, no sleep. The thing is the majoroity of Americans knowledge about sleep and its importantce in our day to day lives is suprisingly lacking. Many Americans hold on to dangerous myths, falsely believing that people need less sleep as they age, That raising the volume on the radio will help them stay awake while driving, And that the human body can adjust to working the night shift. Now of course there is always the odd man out that may do perfectly fine on a few hours sleep a night or the few people who are actually night owls. For most of us, as the sleep survey proves it's just not true. The help that a sleep survey can provide is amazing such as the effects that a lack of sleep can have on people. A sleep survey conducted in 1998 found that 23% of people in the survey admitted to falling asleep while driving, thats alot of people asleep at the wheel. On top of that the sleep survey proved that not getting enough sleep can promote daytime sleepiness, accidents, impaired health, reduced productivity, and difficulty preforming simple daily duties.
